To all Partners, Staff, Site Leaders, and Alumni,

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the decision by CMU “to discontinue the operations of the Outtatown Discipleship School indefinitely due to the uncertainties perpetuated by the global COVID-19 pandemic.” Click here to read CMU’s full announcement which explains this decision.

Over the past three days, the Outtatown office has been busy having conversations delivering this news to partners and instructors from over the years, both in Canada and Guatemala. Through these conversations, we have been reminded that Outtatown has been shaped by remarkable people who continue to care deeply about the program.

To our partners, both old and new, Outtatown is a program built on a foundation of relationships with partners, instructors, camps and organizations that have spanned across Canada and the globe. Our 22-year legacy was only made possible because of partners like you. Words fail to adequately describe our gratitude for your investment, support, and care for this transformative program. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

To our alumni staff and site leaders, thank you for the extraordinary gift of your time, leadership, and energy for however long you served with us. You walked alongside students and leaders, built foundational relationships with partners, and shouldered the burden of leadership with profound generosity and grace. Thank you.

Finally, to our student alumni, we want to thank you for joining us on this adventure of knowing God, knowing yourself and knowing the world. You are the heart of why Outtatown exists, and have shaped the program in ways you may not even know. We pray that Outtatown has continued to shape the way you engage with the beauty and brokenness of the world around you.

Should you have any comments, concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out by email at outtatown@cmu.ca. In the coming weeks, we will be announcing plans for an Outtatown Celebration.

For 22 years Outtatown brought together diverse communities of students and leaders to journey together over the course of 8 months. The good work of that experience did not end at graduation. May you each continue to discover Jesus around you, even as you are invited deeper into the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love.
