| The end of November saw our final meal at the restaurant which
had prepared our dinners and suppers for the past month or so. Students finished up the last of their formal classes, threw a party or two... |
| ...and then headed to the vans for a long drive through the mountains to Vancouver. |

 We lived in "close community," mostly
above the bagel joint shown at left. We spent the week studying various
worship and teaching approaches taken by some thriving churches and experienced the
incredible area that is Vancouver's West Hastings St. |

The Sending out of the 40 Sam Dick with Youth Mission International led us through a focused day-long assignment in the inner city that gave students and staff alike a whole new feel for what it is to live at street level. It opened eyes and broke our hearts...to know that we could not rescue those we met. And so we brought the love of God and His people to these streets (adding to the many who already work every day in this area of Vancouver.) |
| We closed the semester with a time for personal reflection and
encouragement. (Followed by a few days of excellent skiing) It has only been a few months ...but they have been full and already our lives are not the same. God is good. |
