Most of the first month was spent in study and service at camp
Arnes on Lake Winnipeg.(click left) However we took off for 5
days to a more secluded site shortly after our arrival. |
| Several hours by van and a 20 minute boat trip brought us to Pioneer Camp. Someone mentioned something about looking pretty much like those refugees arriving huddled, cold, and hungry on those rogue ships from China. |
| We came to Pioneer Camp to help with maintenance and other work projects, followed by a 4 day camping trip that stretched all of us. The food was awesome. We wanted to kidnap the cooks. |
| We worked with the staff and cooked, raked, painted, moved and installed new beds delivered by boat from the mainland. It really was not as easy as it was made to look up to the right. |
| The camp actually allowed students to pilot the boat. (Nathan is shown to the right, possibly reliving an early childhood experience with a frost covered metal post on a cold winter day.) |

| The canoe trip was awesome! Some of the best and worst of their entire lives. It was one of those experiences which you are so glad you did but you would like to wait a while and think it over, before doing it again. |

| Great friendships began to form in the midst of tenting, rock climbing, a few good water fights and of course the nightly bonfires. |

| Fashion is imprtant at the school of discipleship. Kara models her game winning ping pong socks. |
We are almost sure none of these guys would have even considered
placing this hay bale up against the women's cabin door.
Brings new meaning to the concept of
"rollplay"doesn't it? (If you don't like that one ...how about
"rolemodels"? |
