Reflections on Site Awesome

            After only one month, Outtatown has proven to be all three things it promised- knowing God, knowing yourself, and knowing the world. It is a huge blessing to live in Christian community that this program provides. We have had some great speakers and what is really neat is that through our travels and studies, I’ve been able to experience and apply things we’ve learned. Walking and interacting with the people in downtown Winnipeg to reading the Old Testament in a new light, to experiencing how much God values us- both men and women, are truly life-forming.

            I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the 35 members of my “new family” and our leaders are one of a kind- and amazing! God has a great vision for this group and I’m really excited to see what the next months hold in store.

            It’s been neat to see how “Site Awesome” (1 Guatemala) has already been an answer to the prayers of people from Winnipeg to Alberta (and beyond) when it comes to work and service projects we’ve been able to provide. I’m really excited about how each student was brought into this program; to know that God brought each of us here for a reason fills me with anticipation for the year ahead.
