Our first adventure. After our first night in Guatemala we're
already on the road. The pictures above show our modes of transportation
on the way to our habitat work site in a town called Chuva. First bus,
then cattle trucks.

-Our trip to the Ocean-
Our first trip to the Pacific Ocean. We found out that the sun is
way more powerful in Guatemala. Many of us got our first severe burn
and learnt a valuble lesson in sunscreen application. We also got to
do a little bit a boogy boarding, which was a lot of fun.
-Our trip up Volcano Pacaya-
What you see above is a volcano. Something, I think, we where all excited to climb. The first half of the climb was pretty easy. Then when we finally got to the base of crater it got a little harder to climb. Walking on Volcanic rock where everytime you took a step forward you would slide half a step back. But after that climb when we got to the top it was all made worth while. It was a little cold up there so we didn't get to see the lava down in the crater. But to warm up we would just lie on the rocks around the crater because were actually pretty hot. Needless to say, this is something none of us will forget.
