Rules & Regulations

1.  ENTRY: To enter the giveaway, participants must follow @outtatowncmu AND tag 2 friends in the comments section of the photo posted on Outtatown’s Instagram profile.

Weekly entries will be accepted until the following Tuesday at 11:59 PM CST. All weekly entries will be entered to win the Grand Prize, to a maximum of 5 entries (May 3, 5, 12, 19, 26).

2.  GIVEAWAY DATES: All giveaways will happen between May 3 & June 2, 2017. A new photo for each contest will be posted on every Friday of May on Outtatown’s Instagram profile.

Week 1: Posted May 5, Winner announced May 10
Week 2: Posted May 12, Winner announced May 17
Week 3: Posted May 19, Winner announced May 24
Week 4: Posted May 26, Winner announced May 31
Grand Prize: Winner announced June 2

3.  WINNER SELECTION: Weekly prize winners will be randomly drawn on May 10, 17, 24 and 31 by an Outtatown staff member at 10:45 AM CST and announced via Instagram at 11:00 AM CST.

The grand prize will be randomly drawn by Outtatown and CMU Admissions staff on June 2 at 10:45 AM CST and announced via Instagram at 11:00 AM CST.

4.  PRIZES: A new weekly prize will be announced each Friday of May (4 Prizes).

Week one: Double Parachute Hammock –  Two Tree Hammock Co
Week two: Torrentshell Rain Jacket – Patagonia
Week three: Sunglasses – Donated by Optical Edge, St. Catharines
Final week: MEC Deluxe Camper Sleeping Pad/UCO Hundred Headlamp – MEC

Grand Prize: MEC Travel Backpack value to a maximum of $350

General Conditions and Legal Stuff

1.  NOT ENDORSED BY FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM: By participating in this contest, you acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram, and release Facebook and Instagram from any and all liability arising from or related to this contest. The information you are providing for this contest is being provided to Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) and not to Facebook or Instagram.

2.  CONDUCT: All contest participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. CMU, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of its website, or is otherwise in violation of these rules.

All contest participants must ensure that all comments/captions are not defamatory, trade libelous, pornographic or obscene, and further that it will not contain, include, discuss or involve, without limitation, any of the following: nudity; alcohol/drug consumption or smoking; explicit or graphic sexual activity, or sexual innuendo; crude, vulgar or offensive language and/or symbols; derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual, religious or other groups; content that endorses, condones and/or discusses any illegal, inappropriate or risky behaviour or conduct; personal information of individuals, including, without limitation, names, telephone numbers and addresses (physical or electronic); commercial messages, comparisons or solicitations for products or services; any identifiable third party products, trade-marks, brands and/or logos, other than those of CMU; conduct or other activities in violation of these Official Rules; and/or any other content that is or could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, all as determined by CMU in its sole and absolute discretion. Comments/captions deemed inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, will be deleted and considered as ineligible as a contest entry. 

Staff and faculty of CMU & Outtatown are not eligible to enter.

3.  LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: CMU is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email, or for any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for any reason, the draw is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, CMU may cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the draw. Entrants further agree to release CMU from any liability resulting from, or related to participation in the draw.

4.  PRIVACY: Any personal information we acquire through the entry process will not be submitted to any third party organization. Only the winner’s name may be published on our website or social media channels.
