How can you get involved?
What a good question. A ministry of this nature is dependent on the good will and volunteer efforts of many. If you are eager to be involved we would love to talk to you. Think and pray about this and then give us a call or send us an email outlining some of the following:
- What excites you about the Outtatown program?
- What gifts, abilities, resources do you have that may help us in this discipleship ministry?
- How do you want to be involved?
Some of the ways in which people have been involved could include some of the following:
1. Student recruitment and program promotion – what an exciting thing it would be to “mentor” or encourage some young adult you know into the Outtatown program, and then to support them through prayer and emotional connections while they go through this exciting program. You will be changed by the Lord’s Spirit by your involvement from a distance. Start thinking about this and contact the office if you would like to have any further information.
2. Church awareness and financial support – does your church support a discipleship ministry for young adults? Talk to your church leaders about supporting young people and this program by setting up some bursary/scholarship, or providing some financial support to Outtatown directly. Your Church will be enriched by this relationship and by receiving these students back into the church with new vision and energy.
3. Participate by contributing time, gifts and your energies in some way – we have had people involved in many short term assignments that include driving vehicles, making meals, planning program events, providing accommodations, etc. Let us know what you would like to do.
