Prayer is the foundation of this discipleship ministry and we invite you to become an active part of our prayer team. Programs do not change the human heart, that is a work that only the Holy Spirit can do, so we invite you to pray that in this important ministry we will see God at work in us and in the lives of our students.
1. What to pray for?
a. We invite you to pray for our office team, Cam Priebe (Director), Stephen Plett (Program Manager/South Africa), Ruth Bruinooge (Program Manager/Guatemala), Stefanie Heide (Assistant Manager). Each of us need daily wisdom and the Lord’s guidance and blessing in order to do this in rhythm with the Spirit of the Lord.
b. The Site leaders are front line workers in this program. They live with the students 24/7 and are the mentors who provide life coaching and direction to the daily program. We would invite you to go to click here and to pray for each one individually.
c. Students are here to participate in a journey, wanting to know God, world issues and themselves from a new perspective which can only be formed by the Spirit of the Lord. Please pray for any student you know, or for key students who may come to mind at various times in your day. You can search our current students for names and faces you may know by clicking here.
d. This program is filled with excitement and adventure. Our groups are involved in cross-cultural situations that can be challenging and involve some risk. Please pray for our program – you can follow student blogs or find a general schedule to follow what the sites are doing.
2. Do you want to become more involved in this ministry by your daily support for what is happening, and by keeping in touch with some of the needs we face in order to pray for them directly? If so, we would love to be in touch with you in one of the following ways;
a. Contact Cam Priebe or one of the office staff to let them know you want to support them as part of their prayer support team.
b. If you know one of the students, contact them, their parents or their home church and let them know you are praying. They may be willing/able to provide you some more specific prayer request.
c. Mention the Outtatown program and some of our needs in your home Bible Study, at Church or in your friendship circles and invite others to pray for us as well.
d. As the Lord places a prayer or a vision upon your heart, feel free to email our office team and let us know what God is prompting you to pray for – your spiritual insights may be very important for us to know.
Thank you for your interest and your prayers. We appreciate your support and would be pleased to listen to any suggestions you may have for a more connected experience with the Outtatown Discipleship program.
