Canada
Students will explore the Lake of the Woods in Ontario on a canoe trip before spending almost a week learning, serving and ministering in the north end of urban Winnipeg. After that, you’ll travel west through the Rocky and Coastal mountains to experience the streets of Vancouver. Your eyes will be opened to the reality of poverty in Canada and the contrast between social issues in two different Canadian cities. Most of your stay, however, will be at camps and retreat centres in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley and in Alberta’s Rocky mountains. Great bible study, life preparation, mountain oriented adventure and local service opportunities will comprise the curriculum for the semester.
Guatemala
As an emerging democracy in Central America, Guatemala is an ideal location for travel, education and adventure. Due to the moderate climate and lush vegetation that characterize this country year round, it has been called “the land of eternal spring”. Spreading from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic/Caribbean shores, with fresh water lakes and rivers, hot deserts, live volcanoes and mountainous terrain, the country offers many varied ecosystems often short distances from one another.
South Africa
South Africa is the southern most country on the continent of Africa. It is incredibly beautiful and diverse both in landscape and culture. As a country that is now finding its post-apartheid identity, South Africa continues to heal from the painful memories of almost 50 years of racial segregation. However, this country contains some of the world’s most beautiful cities, a diverse and vibrant culture, and some of Africa’s best places to view wildlife.
